• Abbot PTO

    All dads, moms, grandparents and other guardians of Abbot students, as well as our principal and teachers, are members of the Abbot Parent Teacher Organization. As PTO members, we contribute to our school by volunteering in the classroom, sponsoring field trips and assemblies, raising funds for school improvements, and working with teachers, staff and each other to enhance the learning environment at Abbot.

    Everyone is invited to come to the PTO meetings.  We had a lot of success involving new parents by having meetings over Zoom.  Please join us over Zoom during the 2022-2023 school year.   Look for the Zoom Link in your Inbox.  Look for our updates in your email inbox, here on Abbot’s Website, and on social media.

    Our current officers:

    Kate Sharkey, President

    Tatyana Guiffaro, Vice President

    Martha Hannah, Treasurer

    Suzie Davidson, Secretary

    Robben Schulz, Communications

    Our Mission : To work collaboratively with the education and support staff to enhance the learning environment at Abbot by fostering respect, encouraging achievement, and providing opportunities that will facilitate the success of each child.

    How to Become a Member: If you are the parent or guardian of a student at Abbot, you already are one! To become an active supporter, you could:

    á     Attend the monthly PTO meetings where important issues impacting Abbot families are decided and committees report on current activities;

    á     Volunteer to help in your child’s classroom as a room parent, or to assist room parents with particular parties or activities;

    á     Join a PTO Committee that sounds interesting to you;

    á     Add your name to the “Service as Needed” Committee to be called for help at one-time events or as needed.
